Andrea Michelle Young has been a licensed cosmetologist in Minneapolis, MN for over 10 years.  As alumni of AVEDA INSTITUTE c/o 1999, she developed professional knowledge as well as skills, to be able to work with all textures of hair.  Shortly after graduating, she was offered a job at a well known, fast paced, African American salon.  Embracing salon life, she became a master stylist and on to becoming a salon owner. Perfection was a part of her styling skills even before her licensure, while practicing on family and friends. With that experience she believed that she would be an awesome addition to the industry.

Her character “Starr” was created as she realized she was performing “Star quality” hair on her clients. Her sense of style and keeping her clients hair healthy without losing current trends is her trademark in the community. 

 She named her first salon Starr’s Hair Designs as reminder to herself that she must always remain professional, keep up with the constant evolvement of hairstyling, and continue the “star quality” feel when the clients leave the salon!!

 STARR’S HAIR DESIGNS has the ability to work with all ethnic backgrounds. We offer a clean, welcoming, professional atmosphere during your visit, and we cater to all types of  hair, which is why we offer a personal private consultation at your request.  We also would like to introduce our nail technician “Charlyo.”  All walk-ins welcome, we prefer scheduling appointments to help control a more sufficient timing process.  Our salon is conveniently located on 32^nd and Nicollet Avenue S. 2 blocks from W. Lake near the strip mall, and Wells Fargo bank.
